Day 13 of 31 Lessons from an Epic Beginner
My interest in design and photography started with a Lisa Frank sticker collection. It's an unlikely leap, I know. But a preschooler's interest in stickers sort of evolved over the years.
Stickers gained purpose with a scrapbook. Scrapbooks grew up when simple striped backgrounds replaced sticker accents. A digital camera afforded the grace to improve the quality of photos for said scrapbooks by trial and lots of error. A blog combined a scrapbooker's eye with a writer's heart, and pushed the edges of comfort with creating a design. Pinterest added to the necessity of pretty pictures designed with text for posts.
And somehow, bright-pink kittens and rainbow striped hearts evolved into beginner photography, photo editing, and design. To the point that I have been humbled to design posters for our church's monthly women's meetings, and friends have asked me to take snapshots of their family for them. Nothing major. But for a beginner like myself, it feels like an honor.
A beautiful, beginner-laced honor.
All of these pieces--these interests and hobbies--revolved around one clear passion for pretty designs. A passion that evolved, while I evolved.

Just because you started/are starting/will start one thing, doesn't mean it will never become something else. Be open to the possibilities around you, and the realization that one start might lead to another and another until you land on your personal epic.
