Friends...
Guess what. That stuff in the Bible about the Lord Himself descending from heaven? That's for real.
No, seriously, it's gonna happen. With a shout, the voice of an archangel, and the trumpet of God.
And those people we know that have died (or the ones on all those news reports we can't stop obsessing over)--the ones that died from tragic, terrible things, or unjust ways, or even simply from old age. They're going to rise to meet Him first.
Then, the rest of us--you know, you and I, if He comes now--we will be caught up together with them.
In the clouds.
To meet the Lord in the air.
And, just like that, we will be with Him.
...always.
When we feel worrisome or fearful or sad or even downright paranoid, or when we feel too comfortable (maybe especially when we feel too comfortable), let's comfort each other with these words.
Okay, friends?
Okay.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
Linking up with Lisa Jo Baker for 5-minute Friday. I detoured a bit from writing about the prompt "Friends," to share a piece of encouragement for my friends.
