Having a baby on January 2nd made getting back in shape an obvious goal. But this year, I'm aiming for one loftier accomplishment. 2011 is the year I will write a book. I've dreamed of doing so ever since I was a child. Every time I hear of someone my age (whether I was 12, 16 or in my 20s) having a book published, I experience a weird sense of jealousy--like that should be me. Funny thing, because I have yet to even pursue writing a book.
The content of this "project" is still a little unclear to me, so I won't share those details. But I did spend some time developing an outline and planning out what I will spend each month of 2011 working on. By the end of this year, I should at least have a good draft, if not my very first book to promote to potential publishers. And using the logic from a college professor that a chapter is essentially a magazine article, I should at least have a small collection of potential magazine articles to be published. Worst case scenario, I will realize first hand that I am not meant to author a book--at least not yet. Whatever the end result may be, I am happy to spend 2011 indulging in this childhood dream.
