My water broke Saturday night around midnight (right after we got home from a Christmas party--nice timing), and I had my first "real" contractions. We checked into the hospital and I was at 6 centimeters. Around 3 a.m. I got an epidural and was able to relax. I started pushing by 5 a.m. and Brylee Annelynn was born at 6:05 a.m. Sunday, December 16. She was 8 pounds 4 ounces and 20 inches long.
Daniel and I are so blessed with a precious, healthy little beauty! The experience was surprisingly smooth and everything went well despite my lack of preparation. Now I've got some healing to do and Daniel's been an amazing daddy AND a great support to me--I don't know how he's been doing it all! We both finally got a little bit of sleep last night, despite Brylee being confused about when to sleep and when to be awake (i.e., sleeping through all the company yesterday and keeping daddy awake last night). We'll have pictures up "soon" and with time I hope to get in contact with people that I haven't gotten to talk to. We love you all and greatly appreciate your love and support!!
